I am both a writer and a visual artist.
As a visual artist, I work primarily as a printmaker, using non-toxic inks for my hand-pulled monotypes. I enrich these pieces with a collage process called chine-collé that lets me add found and hand drawn images during the printing process.
My current work draws on the natural dichotomy in my life between my artistic, aesthetic side and my fascination with science and the technical side of the world.
Sunday on the Farm
Monotype is a form of printmaking made by applying ink to a smooth, hard plate and then pressing the image to paper. The result is a unique image. Because some ink may be left on the original plate, series of related prints can be made using the “ghost” of the previous image; adding and altering it and printing again. Even though monotype is a printmaking process, unlike many printmaking techniques, all prints are unique creating a single edition of 1 out of a run of 1.

Keep pushing outside your imposed boundaries. Nothing has to stay on the page where you think it should be. Draw me into that darn farm where I cannot ever forget rising at 4:ooam and milking and hosing the cow patties. Kitties licking butter on the table. Imposing Dad and Sweet Mom. Those images are forever and they’re so much a part of your being. Heart shaped doors in the middle of the woods. You have a ton of stuff to draw from, specially them cows! Love ya, C
